Amanda Woolston, LCSW, CCPT, CT

Co-Founder, Lead Therapist | (they/she)

Thank you so much for considering me for your therapy needs and for acknowledging your own journey toward healing. I want you to know that you are your own greatest expert, and you hold the answers to what you truly need within you. My mission is to create a warm, safe, and nurturing space where your needs and expertise are celebrated and cherished. Your dedication to yourself is absolutely worth it, and you deserve therapy that truly prioritizes your best interests.

My Story

Growing up, I was an anxious, neurodivergent kid who didn’t quite fit in and lacked access to therapy or support at school. After high school, I dove into psychology courses, gaining profound self-understanding and compassion as I explored the science of thoughts, feelings, and behavior. These classes empowered me to make sense of my experiences and ignited my passion for continuous learning. I switched my major to social work, became actively involved in the adoption community, and reunited with my biological family. I embraced my identity as pansexual and non-binary, became a proud parent to two neurodivergent children, started a blog, and advocated for public policy. I published several books and began teaching psychology, sociology, and social work at various colleges. Ultimately, I opened two private practices. Through my journey, I want everyone to know: it’s absolutely possible to feel better, and you can even enjoy life during times when feeling better is a work in progress.

Specialties and Expertise

To summarize my work, I help tweens, teens, and adults suffer less, enjoy life more, harness their strengths, and move toward their potential. I do this best for individuals whose challenges and needs stem from difficult experiences in relationships. This means I work effectively with adopted, fostered, or donor-conceived individuals and their families, people struggling with co-dependency or relationship OCD, survivors of narcissistic or religious abuse, individuals facing antagonistic relationship stress, families in conflict, those dealing with grief or trauma, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
