Abigail Burr, BA, MSW (candidate)
Intern Therapist, Emotional Abuse Specialist | (she/her)
I know what it feels like to bend yourself into shapes you were never meant to be—just to keep the peace, just to feel a sliver of love that doesn’t sting. I know the ache of wondering if you’re too much or never enough, the exhaustion of loving people who never seem to love you back the way you need. You are not alone, and the way you feel makes perfect sense. There’s nothing wrong with you—there’s just a story you’ve been told for too long. Let's rewrite it.

Specialty: Codependency & Emotional Abuse Recovery
You might be longing for clarity in the mess—trying to untangle which parts of you are actually you, and which ones were shaped by survival. Maybe you want to stop apologizing for existing, to stop replaying the same relationship patterns that leave you feeling small, invisible, or used. Therapy can be your reclamation space. A place where you don’t have to justify your pain or explain why you stayed, where we name the gaslighting, the guilt, the grief—and gently, persistently, start replacing them with boundaries, self-trust, and the radical idea that your needs matter. I’m here to hold the flashlight while you gather the pieces of yourself. I don’t just help you “let go” or “move on”—I help you come back home to yourself.
Specialty: Depression & Anxiety/OCD
Living in your brain might sometimes feel like living in a house where the alarms won’t stop going off, the lights flicker unpredictably, and the floor disappears under you just when you think you’ve found your footing. Maybe your mind spirals with "what ifs" that never quiet down, or you're stuck in loops of thoughts or rituals that feel like the only way to keep the chaos from swallowing you. Maybe some days you just feel… nothing. Therapy, with me, is not about “fixing” you—because you’re not broken. It’s about learning how your mind works, befriending the parts of you that are screaming for safety, and slowly reclaiming your days from fear, fog, or shame. We’ll work with curiosity, compassion, and even humor (because honestly, brains are weird and sometimes we gotta laugh). I’ll help you find steadiness, relief, and real tools—not just advice. You're not alone in this.
